It’s already 2022 and I know most of us are in the 2020 mood. Damn, its 2 years to covid-19 and many unsuccessful attempts to make new year resolutions, goals setting and habit formation. We happen to google  search and try finding solutions to our breakaway habits and often end up spiraling back to the same old loop-hole. The best in such a case is to pick a self help book of  your kind, something that just gets rid of your bad habits and helps you advance to a new journey with some reshaped good one’s.

Here are a list of 22 books for this year. There is something for everyone. If you are someone who struggles waking up early in the morning, pick the 5AM club. If you are someone who unconsciously or consciously( mostly that’s what happens) procrastinates till the last minute, Eat that Frog is your bible. Bad habits have overpowered your life and you cannot just get out of the phase, James Clear made it easy with Atomic Habits. Let’s just dive in and understand why you should pick one of these in 2022.

1.)Atomic Habits- “You don’t not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your system. “

When I picked this book, I pre-assumed it to be like any other self help book out there. For someone who has been struggling with habit building and has been the queen of procrastination, I really didn’t have high hopes from this one either. The methods mentioned here, the language, the psychology and everything a human perceives before picking up a new habit is totally true. Habits are a compound interest of self improvement. Just try to improve by 1% daily.

If you want to build good habits, follow these 4 laws:-

  •  Make it obvious
  •  Make it attractive
  •  Make it easy
  •  Make it satisfying

Clear difference between goal formation and habit formation.  The underlying belief system about habit formation and how often get confused and fall in trap of building goals and stacking it up than habits.

2.)The 5 AM Club-  If you are someone who struggles to get up early in the morning or wants to establish a morning routine. This book by Robin Sharma apparently tops the list of all self help books in this category.

The book navigates through a schedule and a practical approach towards bringing this to reality. A must read if you want a more productive and powerful morning. He clearly states that 66 days of getting up early does not make it automatic but how the three step formula completely changes the game starting from 20/20/20 formula to 80/20 principle. Every step in this book accounts for sheer self development.
